The center of scientific research and industrial application of liquid metal in the world is gradually forming in China. China’s liquid metal scientific research has been brewing since 2000, and more than 200 invention patents have been declared for more than ten years, covering many fields of liquid metal. The team has so far been fortunate to have made more than 40 new basic scientific discoveries, and made a series of achievements in chip cooling, heat capture, low-cost hydrogen production, desktop electronic printers, 3D printing, neural connections, tumor treatment, and flexible and variable machines. [Liu Jing] A series of major application technologies of liquid metal are reshaping a new industrial structure and spawning a series of emerging industries. At present, China’s liquid metal industry is in a very significant leading position in the world, and its products are advancing rapidly on a large scale, and there is huge room for industrial development in the future. Among them, Yunnan’s liquid metal industry leads the country, forming a pattern of exporting technology, products and services.A production line with an annual output of 200 tons of liquid metal, thermal interface material products, liquid metal electronic inks, and an annual output of 200,000 sets of liquid metal electronic stylus pens has been built locally. Related products have been put on the market in batches and exported to European and American countries; the world’s first Taiwan liquid metal desktop electronic circuit printers and ink cartridge production lines are also under construction. The liquid metal industry has blossomed in Yunnan for many reasons. Known as the “kingdom of non- ferrous metals”, Yunnan has huge metal reserves.
